Key Regional Industries

Energy Production

Emery County is home to a clean energy project turning organic waste into biochar while capturing carbon in the process. As interest in sustainable energy grows, this region is positioning itself at the front of that shift.

Mining & Materials

Emery County is also home to an active lithium extraction project in the Paradox Basin, backed by a $546 million investment. As production scales up, Southeastern Utah is becoming a growing part of the domestic critical minerals supply chain.

Manufacturing

Southeastern Utah’s manufacturing activity centers on the equipment and processing support tied to its mining and energy projects. As those industries continue to grow, so does the need for local fabrication and production capacity to serve them.

Tourism

Southeastern Utah is home to some of the most visited national parks in the country, including Arches and Canyonlands near Moab and Capitol Reef in Wayne County. As visitation continues to grow, so does demand for the businesses that support it.
