The Economic Development Corporation of Utah (EDCUtah) announced the appointment of Jon Hawkins as a strategic advisor, effective May 1, 2026. In this role, Jon will help support community development, advise cities on Olympic readiness initiatives, and foster economic development opportunities throughout Utah.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jon to the EDCUtah family,” said Ryan Starks, executive director of EDCUtah. “His leadership in the community, coupled with his strong business acumen, makes him a natural fit to support EDCUtah’s mission of creating a prosperous and resilient economy.”
Jon’s experience in Olympic readiness includes consulting, governance, and advocacy. He serves on the boards of the Utah Sports Commission, the Olympic Legacy Foundation, and the USA Climbing Foundation, and he also chairs the legislative Olympic Coordinating Committee. In each of these roles, Hawkins has helped shape projects, policy, and conversations around major events, stakeholder priorities, and the broader impact of sport.
“I’m honored to join EDCUtah as a strategic advisor for Olympic readiness,” said Hawkins. “Utah has an extraordinary opportunity to build on its legacy in sport and global engagement, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to help advance Utah’s vision, strengthen partnerships, support strategic growth, and shape what comes next.”
